Vacant Post One:    Psychotherapist (Anti-Trafficking)

Salary:                    £23,000 (pro-rata 2 days 15 hours a week, part-time position) plus 6% pension contribution

Location:                AFRUCA Centre, Manchester

Contract Type:       One year initial contract

AFRUCA (Africans Unite against Child Abuse) is a national charity promoting the rights and welfare of African children in the UK.

The overarching aim of this service is to strengthen our ongoing provision of support for African children and young people under the age of 18 years old who have experience abuse through trafficking for sexual exploitation and domestic servitude. The Psychotherapist will conduct assessments and provide therapeutic support to children and young people referred to AFRUCA.

Our ideal candidate will be experienced to deliver one to one therapy, experienced in carrying out comprehensive assessments of children and young people from a range of cultural and social backgrounds, and able to deliver psycho-educational workshops. You will be also expected to market our service to a range of statutory referrers in the Greater Manchester area.They must be registered or working towards accreditation with a certified body i.e BACP, BABCP, UKCP etc. They must be able to adapt to working in a non-statutory, small organisational setting. They must have a strong, specialist knowledge and understanding of child trafficking and exploitation and how these impact on children. The post is based in Manchester but will involve some travel between our London and Manchester office. Ability to speak at least one African language is an advantage.
