    • AFRUCA Receives new funding to help tackle the Over-representation of African Children in Child Protection

      AFRUCA has been awarded a new grant to help address the issue of the over-representation of African children in the Child Protection System. With the new grant, AFRUCA will recruit a team of 100 Children's Champions across London and the South of England over the next two years. Their roles would be to undergo intensive training in child protection so they could train others in their communities to help prevent abuse towards children. We expect that over 2,500 parents will directly benefit from the project which is expected to commence in April 2013.

    • 1. Volunteers Project Co-ordinator

      Salary £27K, per annum Based in AFRUCA Head Office, London
      2 Years Contract

      The postholder will manage our new and innovative Child Protection Community Volunteers Programme. They will recruit and train 100 Children's Champions over the next two years to spread the "child protection message" across African communities in London and the South of England.       Part-time position
      Salary £21,000 pro-rata (2 days a week)
      Based in AFRUCA Head Office, London
      Our Finance Assistant will assist the Head of Finance and Administration to manage AFRUCA's finances. They will assist in day-to-day processing of supplies invoices, manage petty cash floats, raise sales invoices for various activities, credit control and undertake monthly bank reconciliations and reconciliations of other control accounts.       Availability - London and the South of England
      AFRUCA Children's Champions will undergo intensive training in Child Protection. Their roles would be to help address the over-representation of black African children in the child protection system by helping to train other African parents across London and the South of England on how to keep children safe from abuse and harm.
