Vacant Post:              Victim Support Worker (full time)

Salary:                        £28,000 (full time), plus 5% employer’s pension contribution

Location:                    AFRUCA Head Office, Unit 3/DF Leroy House

Contract Type:          1 Year initial contract

AFRUCA (Africans Unite against Child Abuse) is a national charity promoting the rights and welfare of African children in the UK.

AFRUCA Head Office in London is the focal point of our anti-trafficking work and activities in England. The office holds 10 members of staff and a number of interns and volunteers. The “Safeguarding Victims of Child Trafficking in England” project is national in scope but core projects activities will run from our Head Office in London and our Centre for African Children and Families in Manchester.

The Jobholder will pro-actively assist in running the anti-trafficking project. Responsible to the Chief Executive, s/he will work in collaboration with the Anti-Trafficking Manager and the Mental Health Worker to support victims, helping to identify and meet needs, providing project administrative support, organizing events and providing logistics in the conduct of various activities.

Our ideal candidate will have minimum 2 years experience working directly with vulnerable young people and very good knowledge of UK laws regarding immigration and trafficking.

The postholder must undergo an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check to confirm their suitability working with children.
